Whale Educational Box (01) – 5 Fables of Gunter

€62.50

A whale fishing with air bubbles, a turtle freed from a fishing line, a coral searching for allies: the Whale box set brings together five fables where the sea and nature reveal their most astonishing solutions. Written by Gunter Pauli and illustrated by Annabelle Carneiro, these bilingual stories (French-English) accompany children aged 3 to 15, at home and at school.

The 5 fables in the Whale box set

  • Fishing Without Nets: a whale and a baby dolphin share their air-bubble fishing technique, which feeds without threatening the survival of species.
  • Plastics in my Tummy: a barracuda frees a turtle, and together they consider alternatives to plastic to protect the planet.
  • The 5 Kingdoms of Nature: the story of how the five kingdoms of life emerged, evolving in symbiosis since the very first bacterium.
  • Coral Care: a coral and a family of brown algae join forces to put an end to dynamite fishing.
  • Paper from Stone: a monkey and an owl discover how to make paper from rock dust, without cutting down a single tree.

A complete method, for children aged 3 to 15

Each fable is followed by a three-step conversation (Did you know?, Think about it, Do it yourself) to learn, question and experiment. The method awakens the child's five intelligences: science, emotional intelligence, the arts, systems thinking and the capacity to implement. The bilingual French-English text supports language learning, and the free educational booklet guides parents and teachers every step of the way.

Frequently asked questions

What age is this box set for?

From age 3 to 15. The fables grow with the child: you start by reading the story, then gradually add the scientific concepts, at the child's own pace.

Do you need to already speak English?

No. Each fable is written in French and English: children compare the words, say them aloud, and jump from one language to the other. Beginner pupils have picked up around 600 words of vocabulary after one year with the Fables.

What is stone paper?

A mineral-based paper made without trees or water, soft to the touch, water-resistant and recyclable. The fable Paper from Stone, included in this box set, tells its story.
