Fable inspired by Dr. Fritjof Capra
Dr. Fritjof Capra was born in Austria in 1939. After earning a doctorate in physics at the University of Vienna, where he worked as a researcher, he emigrated to the United States in 1975. As a scientist, he formulated a critique of science, describing it as an approximation of reality, and therefore an incomplete reality. His first book, The Tao of Physics, became a bestseller in the 1970s.
In The Turning Point, Capra broadens his analysis to show how the revolution in modern physics foreshadows a similar revolution in many other sciences, accompanied by a transformation of worldviews and values in society. He explores in particular the paradigm shifts in biology, medicine, psychology and economics.
In The Hidden Connections, Dr Capra extends systems and complexity theory into the social domain to address the management of human organisations, the challenges of economic globalisation, the ethical questions of biotechnology, and the design of sustainable technologies. In 1995, he co-founded the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley (USA), dedicated to promoting ecology and systems thinking in education, which he led until 2020.
